For Want

For Want

For want of a word, an idea was lost.

For want of an idea, a book was lost.

For want of a book, a message was lost.

For want of a message, a soul was lost.

All through the want of a word.

People need to hear the word of God. Write the words God gives you. Publish the words God gives you. Your book could change a life.

  1. “Write the words God gives you.”
Thank you for these encouraging words. Too often we writers try to chase the current hot topic, or try to anticipate the next hot topic, instead of focusing on writing what God is giving us today.
I did that for several years without success before I returned to writing what God was giving me. Now I have book contracts for three books the “experts” told me had no chance of seeing publication in the present economy!

  2. Congratulations on your book contracts, Ava! God is good. He does grant us the desires of our hearts.

  3. Thank you for FOR WANT, and “Write the words God gives you. Publish the words God gives you. Your book could change a life.” I teach memoir classes based on various verses in the Bible which tell us to remember what we’ve seen God do in our lives and to be sure to tell our children and grandchildren! May I share your words with my next class, which begins in August?

Yes, you may share my words with your class. I love that you teach writing memoirs to share with your children and grandchildren what God has done in your life. Keep the faith going! God Bless!
